A cool and interactive wireless campaign will be implemented for the 40 “Jay Z and Friends” US concerts. ThumbPlay (wireless entertainment provider) and Swagger (wireless marketing promotion firm) will provide to the tour participants with an on-screen sms-chat application, in which text messages are displayed on large video screens installed in every concert.
But, what is the different between this campaign and for example the SMS campaign that Football club Barcelona (bcn 3- mad 0) does every weekend in Camp Nou stadium?
Well, here is the tricky part; it is the first traveling big screen text application, which allows marketers to develop truly interactive promotional programs with CUC (clients, users, and consumers) during a complete artist tour. The application can be used with all major U.S. carriers and the cost will be 99 cents per message sent to the big screen.
The sms-chat will entertain the audience while they wait for the concert and provide an extra and not insignificant income for the artist, record label and of course carriers companies.
